About
Chris Lucas
W. Chris Lucas is a Richmond singer-songwriter and fingerstyle guitarist who’s been playing professionally since around 1990. Originals and covers, acoustic, no fuss — the kind of set that works on a patio with a cider in hand.
He studied classical guitar and earned a master’s in composition at VCU, then turned that training toward songs in the vein of Bruce Cockburn, Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, and Michael Hedges. He’s released several albums of his own material, plays restaurants, coffeehouses, churches, and outdoor stages around RVA, and has opened for Phil Keaggy, David Wilcox, Leo Kottke, Pierce Pettis, and others.
