  • Old School Cider House

Towering twin southern magnolias flank our historic renovated schoolhouse.  Their thick evergreen leaves and fragrant white blooms create a grand canopy that define the school’s timeless southern charm.

This building was a schoolhouse in the 1920’s and early 1930’s until people became more mobile and the small schoolhouses merged to the old historical school in the courthouse area.  At its highest enrollment there were 36 students. When the small neighborhood school buildings were sold by the county, the county judge at that time was Judge Orange.

Judge Orange decided to purchase this building and make it his home.  Judge Orange lived in the building until his passing.  Eventually his son-in-law, John Sowder, became a judge in the county and moved into the building.  Judge Sowder raised his family and lived in the building until his passing in 2010.  The building was then turned into residential rental.

We purchased the building in 2021, had the property rezoned, redesigned and renovated it.

Please stay for a while and enjoy our property as much as we have enjoyed bringing the old schoolhouse back to life as a place for community to gather and have fun!

Thank you for visiting!
